About

Rod Highsmith traded a red Gibson ES 335 to the lead guitar player of the Allman Joys for his #1, 1964 Fender Strat, and started his first guitar collection the next year.  Rod exhibited this collection for the first time at the 1988 Orlando International Guitar Show, and he has been a part if the Orlando show ever since.

By selling high end guitars to every major collector in America during the last 20 years, Rod has established a reputation for both fair trading and representing guitars with "no excuses."  In 2002 he was selected to appraise the entire collection of Mars Music, and prepare it for sale as part of their bankruptcy proceedings.  Rod has represented both museums and private collectors both here and in Canada. He has been able to help place historically important pieces in the hands of appreciative collectors.

With a massive library, thousands of digital files, personal access to other "experts"  in the music and guitar world, and hands on learning over the last 45 years, Rod can professionally appraise your personal guitars/collection, help find that missing or rare piece you've been searching for or give you advice on how best to complete your collection or just find that "special" guitar you've been looking for.

If you are looking for vintage guitars or musical instruments, musician sound plugs, stage monitors or just a friendly chat about  sound and how your ears work, or how "vintage" is made and perceived, just give Peace Guitars a call!
